Activity Module
The Activity Module displays latest activity from the software(s) integrated using JFusion. For example it can pull latest threads/posts from forums software(s) like phpBB, SMF, vB etc. while at the same time pull latest uploaded pictures etc. for G2 which is a completely different type of software.
Configuration Options
For your convenience we have divided the activity module's configurable parameters into two groups. The module provides a lot of flexibility to the end user.
- Enable Cache: Select whether or not to use Module specific cache. Cache may be helpful on larger sites with higher traffic as it helps save precious server resources.
- Module Class Suffix: Refer to your Template documentation for more on this setting.
- JFusion Plugin: Defines which software to pull the latest activity from. Clicking the 'Select' button shall lead to a pop up containing a list of all configured JFusion plugin(s). Select accordingly from the list.
- Menu Item: Menu Item of the link created for the integrated software. Check this article on how to setup a link. Clicking 'Select' shall show all link of the 'JFusion' type. Select accordingly from the list.
- Mode of Operation: The available options are LAT(Last Active Topics), LCT(Last Created Topics) and LCP(Last Created Postings). Select accordingly.
- LAT Mode: In case LAT Mode is selected, then which post should be chosen. Whether the First one should be shown or the Latest one.
- Show Number of Replies: Number of replies the topic has received. Available Options are Yes and No.
- Link Type: Whether the Link shall point to the Thread or to the Post.
- Display Body: If set to Yes the Body of the thread i.e. a portion of it will be displayed. Else it will be not shown.
- Use Body as Subject: Whether or not to use the Body as Subject. Available options are Only if Subject is Empty, Always and Never.
- Open links in a new window: Whether to open the links in a new window or not. Set Yes/No accordingly.
- Forums Mode: Lets you set whether or not to show all forums that your board has or selected forums. In case you choose the 'All Forums', then skip the next setting else read that too.
- Selected Forums: Let's you select which all forums to show the latest activity from.
- Body Display Character Limit: Sets the number of characters contained in the body of the thread displayed.
- Subject Display Character Limit: Sets the number of characters contained in the subject of the thread displayed.
- Result Limit: Set the number of latest threads/posts that is displayed by the module.
- Custom Date Format String: If you leave this blank, the system date string from joomla will be used. If you don't want that, enter a date format according to php's strftime() function
- Custom Time Zone Offset: This field describes the offset from the forum database time in hours. For example if your server is GMT and you are GMT+1, then you enter 1 here. If your time zone and your server are alike, set this to 0
- Result Order: Whether the post shall be published latest to oldest or oldest to latest.
- Show Date: Whether the date shall be down or not.
- Show User: Username of the poster shall be displayed or not.
- Username Link Type: Whether the displayed username should be linked to his/her profile or not.
- Software to use for Link: If the last setting is set to yes then select which software should the link point to. Available options are Joomla!, Community Builder, JomSocial, Joomunity and Gravatar.
- Custom Profile Link: In case you do not use any of the above supported software(s) but still want to point the link to a custom profile solution, enter it here accordingly.
- Avatar Image: Whether the avatar of the user shall be displayed or not.
- Avatar Maximum Height: What should the maximum height of the displayed avatar be.
- Avatar Maximum Width: What should the maximum width of the displayed avatar be.
- Software to retrieve Avatar from: Which software shall the avatar be retrieved from. Possible options are JFusion, Community Builder, JomSocial, Joomunity and Gravatar.
- Show SQL Debug Information: Enable this to debug the query and results returned by the activity module. Note that this will take down your site until disabled!
