The phpBB Plugin has the following Configuration options;
Plugin General Details
- Description: This is a random name that you can assign to the plugin. It basically helps you recognise the plugin. This setting is especially helpful in situations where you maybe using more than one instance of a plugin.
- Full URL to Software: Refers to the complete URL to the phpBB Forum. It should look something like this http://www.yourdomain.com/phpbb
- Full Path to Software: This refers to the path of the phpBB installation on your server. It shall look something like this '/home/my_account_name/my_domain_name/phpbb' (Without the ' ')
- Cookie Domain: This should be set to '.yourdomain.com'(Without the ' ') It is very essential to set them correctly in the Cookie Settings area within the phpBB ACP. This governs the cookie domain the generated cookies possess and is essential for dual login to work perfectly.
- Cookie Path: The default value for this is '/'. This can be set in the phpBB ACP under Cookie Settings
- Cookie Prefix: This is the Prefix of the generated cookies. This too can be set under phpBB ACP under Cookie settings.
- Cookie expiry time (min): This setting defines the Cookie duration for the Cookie generated by JFusion.
- Allow Auto Login Cookie:
Database Options
- Database Type (ie mysql): The type of database. mysql, mysqli etc. are among the various options.
- Database Host: The database host. Most hosts use 'localhost' to connect to their Databases but certain provide specific URLs to access their databases like 'db.yourdomain.com'. Choose accordingly.
- Database Name: The name of your Database used to install and run phpBB.
- Database Username: The username required to access the database.
- Database Password: The password used to access the database for the above mentioned username.
- Table Prefix: The table prefix for phpBB tables in the Database.
Login Options
- Login Identifier: The setting comes into play when the Master software does not support usernames but allows the use of only email addresses for authetication and logging in. One such software supported at the moment by JFusion is Magento. In case you happen to use Magento as the Master, set this setting to 'E-mail'. Otherwise leave it as 'Username'.
The above setup applies for a fresh install of all software(s). If you start with Joomla users already established before setting Magento (or Kayako) as master the you can allow existing users to use their usernames by setting this parameter to 'Username or Email Address'.
User Options
- Usergroup Management: This setting helps in management of User Groups accross different software i.e. synchronization of user groups. More about this can be read here(Article link to be inserted).
- UTF8 advanted username filtering: Citation needed
- Auto Update Activation: This setting comes into play when phpBB is set as slave. If set to 'yes', any changes made to the activation state in Master software will be replicated in phpBB as well. In case it is set to 'no', activating the user account in the master software will not be replicated in phpBB.
- Auto Update Bans: Similar to the above setting. A 'yes' would result in a user banned in the Master Software being banned in phpBB as well. A 'no' would mean that a username banned in Master software is not banned in phpBB.
- Auto Update Email: Similar to the above two as well. A 'yes' would result in any changes in the email address settings in the Master Software trickle down to phpBB as well. A 'no' would mean that any change in email address settings in Master software does not trickle down to phpBB.
Search Engine Friendly Options
- SEF Mode: JFusion at the moment allows for two types of Search Engine Friendly links that are generated when phpBB is displayed framelessly in Joomla!. The appropriate type of SEF can be chosen from the drop down list. NOTE:- This works only with Joomla! SEF Enabled.

- Authentication Mod Settings: This Mod allows a user who logs in or out of phpBB to be logged in or out of Joomla! as well. Enable the Mod to make use of this feature.
- JFusion menu Itemid to redirect to: Needs to be set in case of frameless only. Select the menu item from the list of links that corressponds to your Frameless forum.
