Alpha 5 / external plugin?

In process of developing custom web app in Alpha5 to be shown in iframe in joomla site. Looking for single sign on / authentication for the two and user sync between the two. Alpha5 app has mysql backend and I have full access to modify / change as needed. UserID and security group are the main pieces of info that need to be shared between joomla and alpha5 so that security and searches based on the logged-in user will work in both places.

Also does not have to be custom plugin if someone can get the external plugin or universal one working that is worth some $ to me as well.
