I contacted them for a status "none" available... but we can build you one for $20.00 per hour... between 20 and 30 hours.
So $400 - $500 for this. Will I own the code to be be able to resell to recoup some of my expense?
Seems like there is a great need for this.

Why not just make it and then charge a license fee for those who want to use it? Charge something like $30 per license...im sure there are tons of people who have been looking for a Joomla/IPB bridge (me being one of them).

Re: Joomla + IPB
I'm willing to give this a try. I'm planning to develop two modules: a Jfusion plugin and a DSLO module.
I can combine this with a kayako Fusion Helpdesk integration.
The modules will not be free. In principle I only develop free plugins for free software. Alas, IPB is a paid BBS solution.
-- What I need is a a testversion. Assuming the code is not encrypted I can then have a version of those plugins withina month. So if someone (or up to a nax of 5 people sharing) will provide me with a testversion that I can run on my testserver they will become betatesters and have the final versions for free.
Any takers?
Henk

Re: Joomla + IPB
You guys just gave me the best news this year. Please, add IPB 3.2+ to Jfusion and joomla.
Joomla is a great CMS, IPB is a great forum, we need them connected and integrated.
Like other users, i wouldn't mind to pay a licence in order to be able to use the IPB plugin.
I assume that a lot of other joomla users were waiting so long for this that would purchase it in a second.
I am 100% percent that development costs will be covered in a glimpse by licencing the plugin to users.
It's simple, there is NO robust integration between IPB and Joomla, PERIOD.
For over a year now i was jumping around to integrate IPB with Joomla somehow - i did it by hiring a developer but the solution modified a lot of core files so updating the platforms, in my case is painfull.
Please, develop this and for sure a lot of users wouldn't mind to pay a licence for it ..
IPB 3.2+ integration with Joomla 1.7+ is HEAVEN'S gift

Re: Joomla + IPB
Any updates? We really need this
I was really happy when hwevers took the IPB integration under his wing, i hope he will release it. This plugin was "under development" in the past and .... died.
I simply don't understand why nobody takes into consideration IPB platform and offer support only for Vbulletin. I can think about one scenario ... but maybe i am paranoid.
There is demand for this plugin and such plugin would be a HUGE and popular success.
A lot of users, count me in, expressed their will into even pay a licence for IPB integration. There is so much demand for this that the development costs can be EASY covered.
My logic and math really doesn't understand why Jfusion team and developers doesn't take IPB under their wings but they do for so many other softwares, except IPB.
You guys can see the high demand for this, you can see the potential for even a commercial plugin - why the lack of interest into IPB support?
It simply does not make any sense at all.
I would pay for such development but i can't afford the whole development cost, we can enroll in a group buy, the dev team can develop it than charge a licence for this particular plugin .. and so forth.
Another developer, Matthias ( http://ipbwi.com/) developed a GREAT api for IPB (ipb 3.2+ supported) with A LOT of IPB functions supported, that can be used to integrate IPB with any other software. But, he integrated with Wordpress only .. so , no Joomla support from his end.
Maybe you guys can bring IPBWI api into play and build that Jfusion plugin on top of it so the Joomla community can benefit for a great integration with IPB.
The community really needs this two platforms connected and integrated.
