Hi all
I am really looking forward to jfusion supporting wordpress integration. Any idea how long I have to wait for 2.0 or if there's an alternative way of making this work atm?

Re: Wordpress
we do not know, when jfusion 2 will be ready, first problem is getting jf 1.5 converted into jf 1.6 and make it work with joomla 1.6, this is main reason why 2.0 has been pushed 2.0 has ALOT of changes, and adding joomla changes on top would be risky.
there is no other way that i know off..
all of us are really busy in "RL". personally have a payed job with jfusion taking priority.
-Sorry

Re: Wordpress
I was planning on creating this plugin for 1.5.0 but the current plugin I'm working on is taking so much time to fix, it might not be for a while.

Re: Wordpress... Joomla does blogs better
Wordpress gets a lot of "press" and it has the support of zillions but every time I work with it I get very annoyed. I just don't like it. It's very difficult to work with the templates (customize) and Wordpress breaks easily, in my experience. I don't think the quality of the code is as good as Joomla; mainly because of the way it's organized. Joomla is a very impressive CMS for a whole lot of reasons. At the top of the list is their fabulous MVC structure and the way that Joomla handles templates, IMO.
I did a lot of research on WHY Wordpress is so popular and I came to the conclusion that it's partly because of the users; it's easy for them. Also, Wordpress blogs take full advantage of trackbacks, pings, tags etc. so they do get good exposure on search engines.
I set out to make Joomla do the same things that Wordpress does... and I realized that Joomla already does it all. So I wrote down everything that I was learning and turned it into a tutorial: How to set up a comprehensive blog system using Joomla 1.5:
http://www.dickenswebdesigns.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=2&Itemid=12
Joomla 1.6 will fill in some of the gaps - it will offer trackbacks and tags and things that Wordpress does. There are extensions that will do these things for Joomla, already, but Joomla 1.6 will have them built into the core.
My tutorial explains everything you need to know to turn Joomla into a terrific blog site. I couldn't find any info like this, Step by Step instructions, so I hope it's helpful for somebody.

Re: Wordpress
Just keep watching this forum the next weeks. We have a sponsor for the wordpress 3 plugin. After the sponsor has accepted the plugin it will become part of the jfusion core. For a start see: http://www.jfusion.org/docs/doku.php?id=wordpress;beforeyoubegin and the not yet published page http://www.jfusion.org/docs/doku.php?id=wordpress;configuring
I am not commenting or answering questions here or in the to be created support (sub) forum until after the plugin is available, but the wait will be over pretty soon.

Re: Wordpress
Whose the sponsor? and by the way I know how to deal with cookie hash for wordpress without adding to config file, and still integrate with any other plugin.

I did see that tutorial.
Sadly Joomla has needed a blog for the better part of 5 years.
There are no great Blogs.

Good point.
A popular Extension would be a "virtual clone" of Wordpress.
