Server move due in the next 24 hours

This is a quick FYI. Alan and I started to move stuff for the website to the new server late last night India time. We have made some great progress and plan to make the DNS switch once we have ironed out the last few issues that we are currently facing.

A DNS switch theoretically takes anywhere between 24-72 hours to show up as the DNS across the world refresh one by one. During this period we will be locking down the website on the old server while keeping it open on the new one. This shall help you know if the switch has been made or not.

We have decided to move over ASAP because of the imminent 1.1.2 release which can see a sudden rise in the traffic on this website. Plus our recent tests with the moving of the code website have also been a grand success.

UPDATE 2:- We seem to have been able to fix up the memory issues. Please let us know how it goes from here.

UPDATE 1:- We have decided to hold off this process and revert back to the old website as we have stumbled across some memory issues with Ruby. Will be updating this space as soon as i have more info on this.

This is for all those of you who might be trying to access our Code Website i.e. code.jfusion.org and are unable to get to it. Yeah we know about the issue. In fact this is one that we have created on purpose. So what is happening here? We are shifting servers. We obviously have tried to make this move as silent as possible but some issues are unavoidable especially in the last leg of this move.

Now for some background on why are we doing this. JFusion.org is currently hosted on Site5. However the sheer traffic that pours onto this website is enormous(yeah I remember having promised to blog about traffic stats and will as soon as I find some time to analyze the content in detail). For people who might want some more details on what kind of account this was, it is/was a Shared hosting plan.
